Overview
STUB — REWRITE
Stub. Replace with a brutally concise pilot-perspective overview of how packs, mix manifold, recirc fans, and outflow valves combine to condition the cabin and maintain pressure.
Three air conditioning packs (Pack 1 left, Pack 2 centre, Pack 3 right) supply conditioned air from engine or APU bleed. Seven temperature-controlled zones — flight deck, upper deck, fwd/mid/aft main cabin, fwd/aft lower lobes — draw from a common mix manifold. Pressurization is scheduled by the cabin pressure controller via forward + aft outflow valves.

Components
| Air Conditioning Packs | 3 — Pack 1, Pack 2, Pack 3 |
| Pack Bleed Source | Pack 1 ← L manifold (Eng 1+2) · Pack 2 ← centre/APU · Pack 3 ← R manifold (Eng 3+4) |
| Zone Controllers | 7 zones — flt deck / upper / fwd-mid-aft main / fwd+aft cargo |
| Recirc Fans | 2 (upper + lower) |
| Outflow Valves | 2 (forward, aft) — electrically driven |
| Max Cabin ΔP | 9.4 psi |
| Cabin Altitude Schedule | Sea level → ~6,500 ft cabin at FL410 cruise |
Normal Operation
- Ground (APU): APU bleed feeds both packs; outflow valves fully open.
- Taxi/Takeoff: Packs may be commanded OFF for max takeoff thrust per OPC. Reselect ON after thrust reduction.
- Climb: Cabin climbs at ~500 fpm scheduled against cruise altitude target.
- Cruise: Cabin altitude held per schedule; pack flow modulated by zone temp demand.
- Descent: Cabin descends at ~300 fpm to land at field elevation +200 ft.
Failures & Abnormals
MEMORY ITEM — Rapid Depressurization
- Oxygen masks and regulators — ON, 100%
- Crew communication — ESTABLISH
- Emergency descent if required
Limits
- Max cabin differential pressure: 9.4 psi
- Negative differential: −0.5 psi
